November is the hinge of the Summit year: the last oak leaves come down in one windy week, and the salt goes into the truck the next. T.Magers Landscaping works both sides of that door — mowing, trimming and edging while the grass still climbs, hauling off the leaf load, then plowing drives and clearing walks once the hilltop starts keeping snow. There is a quiet in a yard closed out properly in autumn and opened again in April. Between them come the shifts before dawn, headlights and one straight cut down the length of a driveway. Nobody sees the hour; they see the pavement.
