Green Smith lawns

About Green Smith lawns

By late July the air in Camden County thickens until the afternoon has to break somewhere, and you can watch the thunderhead stack up west over the pike while you finish the last pass. Green Smith lawns works Stratford through that heat, mowing, trimming and edging on the schedule the grass actually keeps rather than the one on the calendar. The soil down here is sandy coastal plain, quick to drain and quicker to scorch, so cutting height matters and so does knowing when to leave a lawn a little longer. Spring and fall the route turns to cleanups, clearing out what the wind and the maples dropped. It is unglamorous, weekly, weather-bound work — and a green even lawn in August is the proof it was done right.
