March along Springdale Road cannot make up its mind: sleet on Tuesday, sixty degrees and mud by Friday. Jake's Lawn & Landscape LLC works both ends of that hinge, the last plowed driveway of the winter and the first cut of the year sometimes falling in the same week. That first mowing is the good one, when a pale lawn goes suddenly bright and the edges get trimmed back to where they belong. From there it settles into rhythm through the season: mow, trim, edge, and leave a place looking like somebody tends it. Then the cold circles back, the blades go on the trucks, and the driveways get opened again before dawn.
