POPPYS LANDSCAPING

About POPPYS LANDSCAPING

The first warm week of March in Spotswood smells like wet ground and old brick, and the strips of grass along Main Street go green before anybody is ready for them. POPPYS LANDSCAPING starts right there — spring cleanups, winter's litter raked out of the beds, the first cut taken before growth gets away. From then on it is weekly mowing, trimming close to posts and steps, and an edge held along walks and drives. Fertilizer and weed control go down when the calendar says so, not once the yard has already lost the argument. This is a mill town that grew up around its water and its Main Street, and every one of its small, close-set lawns shows from the sidewalk.
