Edwards and Sons Tree Service

About Edwards and Sons Tree Service

In Southampton the sand under the pines drinks a whole rainstorm without complaint, and by morning the only evidence of weather is the pitch pine lying across the lane. Edwards and Sons Tree Service runs the sandy roads between Vincentown and Red Lion, hauling storm damage out of the way and removing the oaks that have quietly given up on the inside. Trimming here is a Pine Barrens balance: enough light to reach the lawn, enough canopy to keep the August sun off the roof. They prune young trees so the shape a tree will hold through twenty winters gets decided now, while the branch is still no thicker than a thumb. When the last of the brush has been chipped and the ground raked smooth, a property looks less like a worksite than a clearing the woods left on purpose.
