In June the rose garden at Colonial Park scents half of Franklin Township, and every lawn in Somerset seems to gain an inch overnight. Frankie's Lawn & Tree Care meets that head on with weekly mowing, trimming around posts and beds, and borders kept sharp where turf runs up against concrete. The work turns with the year — cleanups in spring to open the ground, and again in autumn to carry off what the maples let fall. A cut lawn is a modest thing done exactly right: even from edge to edge, straight in its lines, nothing left behind on the sidewalk. Somerset does plenty of admiring of gardens; the lawns deserve the same attention.
