About Petruzzelli Brothers Excavating Co Inc

Three in the morning in February, and Shrewsbury is nothing but orange plow lights and falling white. Petruzzelli Brothers Excavating Co Inc runs the storms here — pushing back drives and lots while the coastal snow keeps coming off the water, wet and heavy as sand. Along the horse fences and the long rural driveways at this end of Monmouth County, a storm is not over when it stops; it is over when the pavement is black again. The crew works down the list until it is, then circles back for whatever the wind has drifted in. There is a particular hush at dawn after a night like that, when the town wakes up and simply drives to work.
