For a couple of weeks each April the cherry trees at Warinanco Park go off like a held breath, and every lawn in Roselle seems to wake at once. Casselli Lawn & Landscape Co. meets that season with mowing, string trimming, bed edging and spring cleanups across the borough's tight grid of streets. Later in the year the work turns to steady weekly maintenance — hedges kept level, leaves gathered before they mat down over the grass. A lawn cut on schedule is a quiet kind of order, and it shows on a block where the houses stand close and everyone sees everything. Roselle is compact enough that the same yards come around again and again, which is its own kind of reward.
