The Pequannock River runs the edge of Riverdale, and in a wet March the flats beside it green up before anything else in the borough. N.A.H Property Services opens the year there with cleanups — winter debris out of the beds, matted leaves off the turf, edges cut back in — then holds the weekly mowing, trimming and edging straight through to November. Mulch and hedge work fill the gaps between cuts, when the beds want more attention than the grass does. Autumn means leaves hauled away rather than pushed to the curb to blow back by evening. Property by property, the borough looks better for it.
