In March the ice goes off the Wanaque Reservoir in dark patches and Ringwood spends a few weeks being two seasons at once. O&M Landscape works both ends of it: plowing and salting while the cold still has its grip, then moving to spring cleanups, mowing and trimming as soon as the ground firms. Winter here is decided by elevation — a rain down in the valley is four inches at the top of the road — so the trucks stay ready longer than most towns require.
