By late October the maples around Cupsaw Lake let go all at once, and every lawn in the neighborhood disappears under a foot of red and gold. Crevina Landscaping spends those weeks on cleanups — mowing what is left, clearing the beds and the walks, getting the turf breathing again before the ground hardens. Then the first hard freeze arrives over the Highlands and the work changes shape: plowing, shoveling out the walks, laying ice melt at the steps. There is a plain satisfaction in a driveway cleared to the asphalt while the woods around it are still buried. Come April the mowers come back out and the whole circuit begins again.
