Ridgefield Park takes its Fourth of July seriously, and in the week before the parade the whole village gets a haircut. Jimenez Landscaping Services LLC is right in the middle of that: mowing, edging along the curb line, trimming close to fences and porch rails, beds weeded and freshly mulched. Through the rest of summer it is the same visit every week, grass swept off the walks and hedges kept back off the windows. Spring means cleanups, feeding and seeding; late fall means leaves cleared before the cold settles for good. A village of small yards, all of them looking their best on the same morning, is a thing worth doing right.
