About D. Panetta Contracting

By ten at night the Mount Freedom rise is a tunnel of falling white, and every driveway on it has begun to disappear. D. Panetta Contracting reads that kind of night by the inch — opening the drive, clearing the walk to the steps, cutting through the frozen ridge the town plow leaves across the apron, then salting so morning doesn't undo the work. Randolph's slopes make winter a question of traction as much as depth, so pavement gets opened wide enough to turn a car around on. Storms that stretch into a second day get a second pass. When the sky finally breaks blue over these hills, the driveway is already black and dry.
