About Zen Works LLC

Early April on Lake Carnegie: the water lies flat under mist, a scull slides past almost without sound, and along the canal towpath the grass is waking green at the roots. Zen Works LLC starts its year in that hushed stretch of morning, with the first cuts of the season and the raking out of winter's litter and matted thatch. Mowing settles into a weekly rhythm, walks and drives are trimmed back to a true border, and clippings are cleared so the lawn reads as one unbroken sheet of color. Feeding and seed follow, filling the thin ground the cold months left behind, and the deck rises as summer heat arrives. Standing back at the end of a route — the lawn even, nothing scattered, the whole yard calm — is the part worth doing right.
