Roma Snow Management

About Roma Snow Management

Snow reaches Pompton Plains on a wind off the ridges to the north, and by two in the morning the driveways down on the river flats have disappeared under it. Roma Snow Management is out in that hour, plowing drives and lots, shoveling walks, steps and the approach to the mailbox, and spreading salt where the pavement will glaze as the temperature falls. Storms here often finish as rain and then lock up hard, so the last pass matters as much as the first. Watching the radar is part of the work, and so is going back out. There is a plain kind of pride in a driveway at sunrise with nothing on it but black pavement.
