Fog comes off the Manasquan River early in Point Pleasant, and it sits in the yards until the sun climbs high enough to burn it away. Asch Brothers Landscaping is out in that hour — mowers warming, dew still bending the blades, the first stripe laid down straight before the town is fully awake. Lawn care on this stretch of the shore means working with sandy ground and salt in the air: feeding the turf that takes it, cutting back what crowds it. By the time the mist lifts, the edges run clean along the walk and not a clipping is left on the concrete. A yard like that looks like somebody cared about it, because somebody did.
