When the egrets come back to the ditches around Pleasantville, the yards are usually still holding a winter's worth of debris in every corner. Kathy's Lawn Care and Clean Up starts there — hauling out the sodden leaves, the fallen branches, the paper the wind delivered, until a yard is down to bare, breathing ground again. Then the season's regular work takes over: mowing, string trimming, edging, and never leaving clippings to become somebody else's problem. Autumn brings the whole cycle back around, leaf by leaf. A yard that has been properly cleared feels twice its size, and handing that back to somebody is the good part of the job.
