About Barker Landscaping

In the Van Wyck Brooks Historic District the houses wear turrets and deep wraparound porches, and the lawns underneath live in the dappled shade of trees older than the sidewalks. Barker Landscaping works those Plainfield yards the way they ask to be worked — a measured cut, string trimming around iron fencing and stone steps, cleanups that leave the beds breathing again. Shade grass is its own puzzle, thinner and slower than the sunny stuff, and it rewards patience over horsepower. Edging is where the care shows: one confident line at the walk, and suddenly the whole property looks intended. There is a particular pleasure in stepping back once the mower is loaded and seeing porch, hedge and lawn read as a single piece.
