Down at Union Square the old rail lines still run out toward the river, and the town has kept its shape around them. Focal Point Landscape and Design carries both halves of the Phillipsburg year — grass cut and edges shaped through the green months, plow and salt once the valley turns cold. Autumn is the hinge: leaves off the lawn, beds cut back, equipment changed over before the first storm slides in over the ridge. What stays with you is the finish, a border clean enough to run a finger along, or a driveway opened wide to the pavement at five in the morning. The work covers Phillipsburg and the townships on either side of it.
