Along the Newark-Pompton Turnpike the maples go over all at once in October, and for two weeks the lawns of Pequannock Township are more leaf than grass. PM Lawn Maintenance works that handover — the last mowings, the trimming and edging that keeps a yard defined, and the cleanups that take the whole fall down to bare green again. Then the ground hardens, the first storms come off the northwest, and the work turns to plowing driveways and clearing walks before daylight. A yard raked clean in November and a drive opened in December are the same promise kept twice. Come May the mowers go back out, and the round begins again.
