By mid-October the sun drops in low through the pines around Pemberton Heights and lays long stripes across every lawn. Zapien's Landscaping LLC is out in that light finishing the year: the last mowings, the edges recut before the ground stiffens, trimming along the fences, and the cleanups that strip leaves and needles out of the beds and off the walks. Through summer the same route runs weekly, cutting fast growth on light soil. The work is simple and it shows plainly, which is much of the appeal. A yard left neat in the fall starts the next spring ahead.
