About Manuel&family

South Paterson in late June: the days stretch past eight, the sidewalks stay warm into the evening, and the lawns need cutting again before you have finished thinking about the last one. Manuel&family works that stretch with mowers, trimmers and edgers, plus mulch for the beds and rakes for the two ends of the year. Yards down here are compact and busy — a walk, a driveway, a strip of grass, a fence — so the finish work matters more than the open passes. Everything gets swept off at the end, because clippings left on the concrete undo a good cut in about a minute. A block where every lawn is handled looks like a block where people are staying, and that is a good thing to be part of.
