Everything green in this town grows out of what a glacier left behind: sand, gravel and stubborn clay that drains fast in one yard and not at all in the next. Project Green Lawncare, LLC treats a lawn as exactly what the name says, a long project — cleanups and seeding early, mulch worked into the beds, weekly mowing and trimming through the heat, aeration and leaf clearing when the season turns. Late May is when the effort starts paying: thick turf, dark bed edges, a yard that finally matches the picture somebody had in their head. Progress on grass is slow and then all at once obvious. That moment is the reason for everything leading up to it.
