The Saddle River moves quietly through the west side of Paramus, and on July mornings the mist off it hangs in the park's old sycamores until the sun burns it away. Almost Perfect Landscaping works the lawns that run back toward that water — mowing, edging, and the trimming that turns a yard into something with a shape to it. Come winter the same properties ask for something else entirely, and the plow goes out to open driveways and walks before the first commuters have found their keys. There is one satisfaction in a straight edge along a Bergen County sidewalk and another in a cleared apron at daybreak with the salt already down. Both are the work, and both get done the same way.
