There is one day every November when an Oakland crew does both jobs — the last mow of the year in the morning, the plow bolted on by dark. Todé Landscape lives on both sides of that hinge: mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups while the grass is willing, then driveway plowing, walkway clearing and salting once the valley takes its first real inch. Knowing a property in July makes it easier to plow in January, because you already know where the lawn ends and the gravel begins. That memory is the underrated part of tending the same streets all year. Oakland is home, along with Franklin Lakes, Mahwah and Pompton Lakes.
