Uncle Matty's Tree Service

About Uncle Matty's Tree Service

North Arlington runs along a ridge with the Passaic on one side and the wide Meadowlands opening out below, and the wind that crosses all that low ground arrives at the top of the hill with something to prove. Uncle Matty's Tree Service works the tight driveways and shared fence lines off Ridge Road, taking down trees that have run out of good years and thinning the crowns of the ones that still have plenty. Pruning on a hillside street is patient work: one limb at a time, roped down over a garage roof, nothing landing where it shouldn't. When a storm leaves wood across a sidewalk, the cleanup goes right down to the last rake pass, so morning looks ordinary again. The reward is a clean silhouette against that long view east, and a yard that reads as looked-after from the curb.
