About Kanes Outdoor Services LLC

West of downtown the land begins to tilt, and by the time you reach Vailsburg and the shade of Ivy Hill Park you are climbing toward the ridge of the Oranges. Kanes Outdoor Services LLC works those uphill blocks, where lawns come in terraces and every push of the mower is a little bit of a hike. October defines the year here — the oaks and maples let go all week, and a yard raked at noon wants raking again by dusk. So the leaves get gathered and hauled, the borders get cut back, and the grass takes one last low pass before the cold. Standing at the top of a Vailsburg driveway at dusk, looking down a yard that is bare and even and done, is its own reward.
