In April the cherry allées of Branch Brook Park go off all at once, and half the North Ward ends up standing underneath them with their heads tipped back. C.A.M. Landscaping and Snowplowing, LLC keeps the neighborhoods on either side of that park in order year-round — mowing and trimming through the green months, hauling the leaf load when it turns, then plowing and salting once those same lanes go white and silent. The mowing is patient work: strips of lawn between stone walls, tree roots to steer around, hedges that ask more of the trimmer than the mower. The plow work is the opposite — speed, darkness, coffee going cold in the cupholder. Both are ways of keeping a street usable, which is really all anybody is asking for.
