In October the sky over the Forsythe refuge fills with brant coming down the flyway, and Mystic Island lawns get one last long stretch of growing weather. Hutchison Lawn Services mows straight through it, keeping the cut regular while days shorten and the marsh goes copper at its edges. Leaves and blown litter are cleared off the turf, beds opened back up, and lines recut so they survive the winter. Trimming finishes the corners around sheds, posts, and the sandy strip along the road. Yards here and over in Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton go into the cold months looking squared away.
