On Mystic Island the weather comes off the back bay with nothing at all to slow it, and a February northeaster will pack a driveway solid before the tide even turns. Area Maintenance plows those lagoon streets in the dark, clearing drives and walks down to pavement and salting where wind has glazed them, so the first trip out in the morning is an easy one. In the warm half of the year the same lots get mowed, edged, and trimmed against bulkheads and dock posts, with cleanups after the marsh grass and storm litter blow in. Sandy ground out toward Great Bay Boulevard grows thin and dries fast, which asks for a mowing height that respects it. Little Egg Harbor, Tuckerton and Parkertown get the same two-season attention.
