Romero Landscaping & Masonry runs those routes in the dark hours of a storm, pushing driveways and lots back to pavement and salting the walks so the first person out at six steps onto grit instead of glass. By late spring the same trucks are in the same neighborhoods on a gentler errand, mowing, edging, spreading mulch, keeping the lawns even through the long humid stretch of a New Jersey July. Autumn brings the leaves down off the ridge and the crew clears them before winter can press them flat. Two very different jobs, one map, learned turn by turn.
