About Ken Steenstra Landscaping, Inc.

Before Midland Park was Midland Park it was Wortendyke, Dutch farm country tucked under the Ramapo foothills, and the winters have not much changed their manners since. Ken Steenstra Landscaping, Inc. runs the cold hours — plowing driveways, clearing walks and steps, salting the slick apron at the foot of a sloped drive before anyone backs out into it. When the ground softens, the same properties turn green work: mowing, edging, trimming, cleanups, mulch and leaf removal on whatever calendar the weather sets. There is a particular quiet in a borough at four in the morning with the snow still coming down and one truck out on the route. Getting a household out the door on time is not a small thing, and it is the reason the truck is out at all.
