Pitch pine and sandy loam make an unlikely bed for turf, yet Medford's yards manage it, particularly in the neighborhoods near Freedom Park where sun arrives in patches. Laurel Oak Landscaping tends them with regular mowing, edging, trimming, fertilization and weed control, adjusted for how thin this ground can run. Coaxing an even, deep green out of soil that would rather grow pine needles is a small triumph worth repeating. Cleanups at either end of the year keep the lawn breathing under whatever the canopy drops. Medford lawns, from the village streets out toward the Shamong side, are welcome on the schedule.
