October in Long Branch arrives with the wind swinging northeast and the maples letting go all at once, leaves piling along the curbs from Branchport Creek toward the station platform. Wilson Bros Landscaping, Inc. spends those weeks on cleanups: leaves hauled away, beds cut back, one last clean mow before the ground goes hard. Then the calendar turns and the same trucks carry plows and salt — driveways cleared, walkways shoveled and treated, lots opened while the coast is still dark. Spring swings it back around to mowing, edging, trimming and fresh mulch, out through West Long Branch, Oceanport, Little Silver and Tinton Falls. The satisfaction is identical either way: somebody steps outside and the path is simply there, ready for them.
