In late spring the fog comes off the water and settles over Long Branch until the streetlights look like they're underwater. Magic Grass works through it, because grass doesn't care about visibility and June waits for no one — mowing, trimming, edging, keeping beds clear while everything doubles in size. Fog-heavy mornings leave the turf soaked, so the cut gets timed for after it lifts, when the blades stand up and take the mower evenly. It's a small piece of judgment nobody ever notices. They notice the lawn, though, and that's the idea.
