By the second storm of a February week the little streets over toward Winfield Park have nowhere left to put snow, and every pile has a gray crust on it. When the thaw finally comes the same ground turns to mud, and the season flips to mowing, edging and hauling winter's wreckage off the grass. Linden lies flat here, so water sits and the cleanups matter. There is a particular pride in a driveway opened at dawn and, six months later, that same driveway framed by a lawn cut in clean lines.
