At four in the morning after a storm the sky over the Hudson glows behind the Palisades, and Leonia sits under a foot of new snow with nothing moving in it yet. TC&N LANDSCAPING is out there plowing driveways and cutting walkways down to the pavement so the borough can get down the hill and out toward the bridge. Salt follows where the shade holds ice, and the second pass handles whatever the road plows pushed back across the apron. In the warm half of the year the work is mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups on those same properties. Two very different jobs, one plain promise: leave it better than it was found.
