Behind the houses off Broad Avenue, Leonia holds a surprising amount of green — deep back lots, settled plantings, beds that somebody has been tending for a long while. Limone Farm & Gardens works in that grain, mowing, edging and trimming through the season and clearing the beds out in spring and fall. June is the month when everything arrives at once here, and keeping pace is mostly a matter of showing up the same day each week. The borough's shade makes for soft slow grass in some yards and thin patches in others, so no two properties get quite the same handling. A well-kept yard in a town of old trees is a fine place to stand.
