Noon in midsummer, and Kinnelon's old stone walls hold the heat while mountain laurel keeps its own patch of shade. Guardians of the Gardens tends the lawns that run up to those walls — mowing around curves no straight line ever planned, trimming close along the base of the stonework, edging the beds so the border reads sharp from the driveway. Shade and sun split most yards here, so the cut gets adjusted rather than simply repeated. Cleanups at either end of the season keep the turf open and breathing. A tended lawn makes everything planted around it look intentional.
