The drives around Longwood Lake tip toward the water, which is a pleasure in July and a problem in January. A steep drive wants the snow taken off in the right order and the salt laid where the runoff refreezes at the bottom. The rest of the year it is the weekly cut and the seasonal cleanups, and the beds kept sharp against the lawn.
