By late October the fog comes up the Toms River in the mornings, the growing slows to a halt, and there is one last cut left in the year. Shore Cut Lawns makes that one count — the final mow low and even, the edges recut, leaves and pine needles taken off the turf so nothing sits wet all winter. The rest of the year is the weekly circuit through the borough: mowing, string trimming, edging along drives and walks, and the pavement blown clean at the end. Spring cleanup opens it all up again, once the wind off the water loses its bite. A lawn put away properly in November is a lawn that comes back easily in April.
