About GreenCity Design

Green in Hoboken is measured by the square foot — a backyard between brownstones, a strip beside a stoop, a roof deck with the Hudson wind coming straight across it. GreenCity Design works at that scale: mowing and trimming the small lawns, edging the borders, keeping planted areas clean and cut back through the growing season, and clearing the leaves that blow in off the street each fall. A city yard is a room, and it gets read from the kitchen window every single day, which is a stricter standard than any acre out in the country. On June evenings the light comes back off the river and turns those little patches gold for about ten minutes. Worth doing well, for ten minutes like that.
