SUNRISE LAWN CUTS

About SUNRISE LAWN CUTS

First light in Hightstown comes up over the flat eastern fields and lands on wet grass, and for an hour the whole borough is silver with dew. SUNRISE LAWN CUTS starts the route while the day is still cool — mowing, string trimming, edging clean lines along drives and walks, and blowing the clippings back off the pavement. Cutting early has its own logic: the air is still, the heat has not set in, and the grass stands straight up to meet the blade. Spring and fall bring the cleanups, and leaf removal takes a yard back down to plain green before winter. By the time most of the street is awake, the lawn is finished and the mower is two houses along.
