About Van Dine Motor's Inc

The truck goes out before anyone else is moving — plow chained on, spreader loaded, headlights cutting through the falling snow on a Hackensack street where nothing has been driven yet. Van Dine Motor's Inc runs winter that way, one pass and then another, opening driveways and lots and laying salt down so the surface stays workable when the temperature drops again after dark. Storms here come in off the flats south of town and can turn to sleet by mid-morning, which means the second visit matters as much as the first. The good moment comes at sunrise: a clean driveway, tidy banks either side, and a car that pulls out without a shove. Hackensack, South Hackensack, Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park, every storm the winter sends.
