About A. Macchione Brothers Inc.

At four in the morning the gold dome over the Bergen County Courthouse is the only lit thing on Court Street, and Hackensack belongs to the plows. A. Macchione Brothers Inc. works that hush — blades down, salt spreading behind, driveways and lots opened while the storm is still deciding what it wants to be. Nor'easters climb the coast and arrive here as wet, heavy stuff, the kind that packs at the apron and freezes to glass by daylight. Shovels finish what a truck cannot reach: steps, walks, the strip between a car door and the street. By the time the county wakes and traffic finds Main, the pavement is already dark and open.
