Wind behaves strangely on Prospect Avenue, where Hackensack's apartment towers stand up out of a low county and push the weather sideways between them. Snow drifts there in odd seams, so plowing the corridor means knowing which entrances fill first and which walk will be bare rock salt by noon. Atlas Landscapes & Outdoor Services runs that route in winter and swaps to mowers when the lawns below the towers start pushing again in May. Summer work is the rotation: cut, edge, trim, blow the walks down, leave nothing behind but the smell of it. The satisfaction is the same in either season — arriving at a mess and leaving a clean line.
