Guttenberg stacks itself along the Palisades, a narrow town on a cliff with the Hudson throwing light back at it every morning and the Manhattan skyline standing across the water. The lawns here are small — a strip beside the stoop, a square behind the row house, a patch at the corner of a building — and Gomez Lawn Landscaping LLC treats each one at its own scale. Mowing, edging tight to the concrete, trimming around railings and gate posts, feeding and weed control worked into ground that has to do a great deal with very little. Cleanups run in both directions of the year, clearing whatever the wind off the river drops in. In a town this dense, a green square kept neat is not a small thing at all.
