In April the slopes around Rifle Camp Park go green from the bottom up, and the basalt ledges holding this whole ridge together warm through by afternoon. Top Notch Landscapes opens the year with that, spring cleanups and first cuts, trimming and edging brought back to a line after a winter of blur. Lawns beneath the Watchung crest catch wind and shade in odd measure, and no two properties on the same street behave alike. Reading that, and cutting to it, is most of the craft. By June the results speak plainly: even color, borders held to a line, and grass that looks like somebody meant it.
