By the middle of March the south branch of Big Timber Creek runs high and brown, and the lawns above it are still deciding whether to wake up. That turn — mud sliding into green — is when Green State Lanscaping & Lawn Service changes gear, putting the plow away and pulling the mowers out. The warm months are cutting, trimming and edging on a steady schedule; the cold ones are driveways, walkways and lots opened up when a coastal storm comes up the shore and drops wet, heavy South Jersey snow. Two halves of one year, one set of properties looked after all the way around. Gloucester Township never really stops needing somebody with the right machine for the day.
