Palmer Services

About Palmer Services

Fredon is ridge-and-valley country: hayfields tipped against hillsides, the Paulins Kill winding along low, and the Kittatinny standing off to the west. Palmer Services works the whole year up here — mowing, trimming and cleanups while the fields are green, plowing and salting once Sussex County settles into the cold. Snow lasts longer at this elevation than it does an hour south, and a driveway that climbs has to be cleared down to the gravel or it never really opens. Summer brings big lawns, tall grass, and the good tired feeling of a mower shut off at the end of a hot afternoon. Different tools, one idea: keep the ground usable whatever the sky is doing.
